Look, we get it - nobody actually enjoys reading privacy policies. But here's the thing: we're architects, not data miners. We only collect what we absolutely need to do our job and keep in touch with you. That's pretty much it.
When you reach out to us - whether it's through our contact form, email, or a phone call - we'll collect basic stuff like your name, email address, phone number, and whatever details you share about your project. If you're a client, we'll also have your business info, project address, and billing details.
Our website uses standard analytics (Google Analytics, to be specific) to see how people use the site. It's mostly just page views, how long folks stick around, what device they're using - nothing creepy. We don't track you across other websites or anything like that.
We're not in the business of collecting sensitive personal information. If you're sending us building plans or heritage documentation, that's work-related stuff and we treat it accordingly.
Pretty straightforward here. We use your contact info to, well, contact you. Respond to your inquiries, send project updates, share quotes, that kind of thing.
If you're working with us on a project, we'll use your information to manage that project - coordinating with contractors, filing permits, handling billing, all the usual architectural firm stuff.
Sometimes we might send occasional updates about our work or industry news if you've expressed interest, but we're not gonna spam you. You can opt out anytime - just shoot us an email and we'll take you off the list. No hard feelings.
We don't sell your data. Full stop. That's not our business model and never will be.
That said, sometimes we need to share info to get the job done. Structural engineers, contractors, municipal planning offices - you know, the people actually involved in making your project happen. They're bound by their own professional standards and confidentiality agreements.
We use cloud services for our project management and file storage (stuff like Google Workspace, Dropbox Business). These companies have their own privacy policies and security measures. We picked 'em because they're reliable and take security seriously.
If there's ever a legal requirement to disclose information - like a court order or regulatory inquiry - we'll comply with that. But we'd also let you know unless we're legally prevented from doing so.
Yeah, we use cookies - but not the fun kind. These are just small text files that help our website remember your preferences and understand how people use the site.
Most of our cookies are "session cookies" that disappear when you close your browser. Some stick around longer to remember settings or for analytics purposes.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings if you want. The site'll still work, though some features might be a bit clunky without them.
We take reasonable precautions to protect your information. Encrypted connections, password protection, regular backups - all the standard stuff you'd expect from a professional firm.
Our servers are in Canada, and we work with hosting providers that comply with Canadian privacy standards. Project files are stored securely and only accessible to team members who need 'em.
That said, nothing's 100% foolproof. We do our best, but we can't guarantee absolute security. If there's ever a data breach that affects your information, we'll let you know ASAP and work with you on next steps.
We keep your data as long as we need it for the project and any legal requirements (usually about 7 years for architectural records). After that, we securely delete or anonymize it.
Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA, if you wanna look it up), you've got rights regarding your personal information:
Just email us at info@valeryonforgequint.info or call (604) 555-0147 to exercise any of these rights. We'll get back to you within 30 days.
Our services aren't directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect information from kids. If you're a parent and think we might have info about your child, reach out and we'll delete it right away.
We might update this policy from time to time - usually when there's a change in how we operate or new privacy regulations come into effect. When we do make changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and post the new version here.
For major changes, we'll try to give you a heads up via email if we have your contact info. But it's worth checking back here occasionally if you're curious about how we handle things.
If you've got questions about this privacy policy or how we handle your information, don't hesitate to reach out. Seriously, we'd rather answer your questions than have you worry about it.
